Hearing God's Calling

Thank you for visiting our blog!  God has blessed us with the opportunity to travel this beautiful journey of adopting a baby.  We will use this blog to share updates of this miracle-in-the-making!

We are amazed at all of the blessings we have already received throughout our journey thus far.  We have no doubt that we are right where God wants us to be!  It is such a blessing to say with confidence that we have found our purpose in life, becoming adoptive parents!

Our adoption journey began in 2010.  We struggled with infertility for 3 years.  During this time, our marriage grew stronger than we could have ever imagined, as well as our relationship with God, both as a couple and individually.  After countless doctor visits, tests, procedures, surgery, and tears, we decided to explore other options for growing our family.  Little did we know that the saddest time of our lives would soon be transformed into a revelation of God's calling for us as a couple.  We visited in vitro clinics as well as adoption agencies.  We compared the options, detail after detail.  We prayed for clarity, discernment, God's will, and for our desires to be conformed to God's plan for us.  We prayed, we cried, and prayed some more.

One morning, Romans 8:15 leapt off the pages of my Bible.  "So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves.  Instead, you received God's Spirit when He adopted you as His own children. Now we call him, "Abba, Father."  Choosing adoption was clearly the path that we should take.  We are called to care for others as God cares for us, and because of His great love, we are all adopted into His family.  Without a doubt, we are called to serve the Lord by following His example of loving others through the miracle of adoption!  Andrew and I took the first step on complete faith that HE WILL provide and lead us, and we continue to take each step of this journey with that same faith.

It was SO hard for us to keep our news a secret from family and friends!  We waited many months, until we completed our home study, before we broke the exciting news to anyone.  It was so much fun to finally be able to share and talk about our journey!  The smiles and tears and hugs from everyone are such wonderful memories that we will cherish forever.

We have received overflowing love and support from our family and friends.  We stand in awe of the constant encouragement and kindness we receive from those walking this journey alongside us.  From the phone calls to emails, to the cards and gifts, to surprise dinners, to surprise fundraisers, to the prayers and love that is shown, words cannot ever express our gratitude.  Thank you. 

We stand ready to be amazed at how God is going to complete our family!  Baby T is already so loved by so many people!  We invite you to take a front row seat and join us in watching this miracle unfold.
